The GEIGER final conference, GEIGER Connect took place on 20-21 October 2022 at the Grand Hotel Italia in Cluj Napoca, Romania, as part of the Cluj Innovation Days.

During the event, we discussed the challenges of cybersecurity for small businesses: How to evaluate the risks? How to choose the suitable tools for your needs and budget? How to make sure your colleagues and employees have the skills it takes to keep your business secure? How to get started?

The first day started with a keynote by Stelian Brad, President of Cluj IT Cluster.

It was followed by a panel discussion in a "fishbowl" format, moderated by Samuel Fricker from FHNW, the coordinator of the GEIGER project. The initial panellists were Jessica Peichl from University of Education Freiburg (PFH), Cristian Priboi from National Cyber Security Directorate (DNSC) of Romania, and Stelian Brad. They were replaced during the discussion by participants from the audience, following the fishbowl conversation concept that allowed a more interactive and inclusive approach.

After the panel discussion, Max van Haastrecht from University of Leiden and Nosa Ahanor from FHNW presented the GEIGER toolbox to the attendees, and went on with the demo of the newly launched beta version of the GEIGER app.

The third session focused on GEIGER education. Jessica Peichl, together with Bernd Remmele from University of Education Freiburg (PFH) presented the GEIGER education programme.

The of the first day of the final conference was concluded with the handing out of certificates to students who finalised a GEIGER Security Defender training conducted by Cluj IT, and with a networking apéro.

On the second day of the final conference, several cybersecurity tool and education providers joined the the GEIGER Connectathon, on-site in Cluj-Napoca and remotely. The GEIGER API was introduced to them, and they worked, together with the GEIGER consortium, on the ways to integrate their tools in the GEIGER toolbox.

GEIGER was also presented at an expo booth during the three on-site days (19-21 October) of the Cluj Innovation Days, and GEIGER consortium members were interviewed by the local and national media.
